Even more than the
Exposure Made Easy class,
Advanced Exposure is mandatory for anyone who wishes to excel in photography and to truly
master the art of exposure.

This workshop is a necessary and natural continuation of the
Exposure Made Easy
class. It builds on what was learned in
Exposure Made Easy
and concentrates on a very common outdoor
lighting situation, one that includes both sunlight and shadows.
The image on the right
is the quintessential example of how sunlight and shadow can be combined to
create depth and separation. Note how you can see every single flower, stem, and blade
of grass—even out into the distance.
It is under these circumstances, that exposure has been very
tricky to determine and even more difficult to learn how to do it, until now!
After several years pondering the topic,
Mike has figured a way to teach the method in just a few simple steps.
And, to help you better absorb and comprehend the material,
Mike has developed several visually powerful examples and animations using
PhotoShop and PowerPoint.
This course, combined with some practice, will give you mastery over the most
difficult technical aspect of photography: EXPOSURE.
It is important that you have a film or digital SLR camera that has Manual Metering. This
is mamdatory. Please see the
Course Requirements.
After the session, you'll be ready to move onto our other photography courses.
COURSE AGENDA
Both instruction sessions takes place in the cozy atmosphere of Mike's home and
studio in Downers Grove, Illinois. The first session will last from 2 to 3 hours
and you will be assigned homework in order to practice what you learned.
The second class session is usually
scheduled one week later and lasts for approximately 2 hours.
During this session, images are critiqued and all of your remaining
questions are answered.
This photography class will be limited to 8 to 12 students,
depending on the experience level of the
participants. So, please register quickly to insure a spot.
